Israel has a very good road network, with construction of a 300 meter Trans-Israel highway planned for the early millennium. Passenger and freight railways connect Jerusalem, Tel Aviv, and Haifa with the manufacturing centers of Galilee in the north, Beer Sheva in the center, and Eilat in the far south. The three main commercial seaports are in Eilat, Ashkelon, and Haifa. Ben Gurion International Airport is in Lod, near Tel Aviv, with nineteen local airstrips within Israel.

Israel has an advanced telecommunications system, run by the Bezek company. About 60% of Israelis use cellular telephones. The government post office is also excellent. There are several television and radio stations, broadcasting in a variety of languages.
