The 4th International Diplomatic Club Tennis Tournament was held at the Ramat
Hasharon Israel Tennis Center on the 1st –3rd of June 2001.
The
Tournament was not a professional event and was open to anyone who wanted to
compete regardless of their standard.
The program was as follows:

The program was as follows:
Friday 1st:
15:00- 15:30 Coffee reception and registration
15.30 Opening ceremony
16.00 - 19.00 Commencement of Doubles Tournament which continued throughout the day. It was played on a Round Robin Format (league) , in order that all teams could play the maximum number of matches.
Saturday 2th
09:00 Commencement of Singles Tournament. Play continued throughout the day.
Players were divided into devisions according to their levels and played first a Round Robin Format, with the winners advancing to the knock out stage.
Sunday 3rd
09:00 Continuation of Doubles
16:00 Tournament Finals
18:00 Prize Giving Ceremony and Beer Party.
Participants could compete in both singles and doubles categories or in only one of the two.
The Main Prize for the Tournament Champions was a weekend in the Club-Med, Eilat.
The winners of the The 4th International Diplomatic Club Tennis Tournament 2001 are:
1st place in Doubles: Mr. Frank Vamvilliet –De Telegraaf & Mr. Rappaport
1st place in Singles: Mr. Alfredo Capdequi – Spanish Embassy
1 place in 3rd league: Mr. Zoran Petkovich – Slovenian Embassy

There was a presentation of gifts for “Diplomatic sabras”, children of the Diplomatic Corps who were born in Israel between the 2000-2001 Tournaments. During this period two “diplomatic sabras” were born Ferenz Toth – Hungarian Embassy and Chasana Aripdjanova – Uzbekistan Embassy.
There were two junior participants (13-14 years old): Carlos Barcenas – son of Ambassador of Spain and Luca Decour son of the Bruno Decour from Italian Embassy.
T-shirts and sun protection products were given to all entrants.
May Eden generously supplied mineral water for the duration of the Tournament.
