1.INTRODUCTION

Established in 1998, the Diplomatic Club has since then been working tirelessly to provide to its members ever improving services. From easing the integration into Israeli society of foreign diplomatic staff send to Israel to organizing various events aimed at strengthening the links between different organizations and between diplomats and Israeli officials, the Diplomatic Club is an acclaimed asset to the international community in Israel.

  Its services include:

  • Providing up to date information as to the best available insurance scheme for diplomatic staff.
  • Distributing a yearly updated directory of medical staff fluent in various languages so as to eliminate the language barrier adding an unnecessary stress to the treatment of illnesses and injuries.
  • Securing numerous discounts for the Diplomatic Club’s members.
  • Creating, editing and distributing the Diplomatic Club Magazine, a high quality publication issued every two months.
  • Organizing social, sportive and political events.
  • Providing up to date daily news and a wealth of other useful information through its web-site www.diplomacy-club.com .

Open-mindedness and togetherness are the motto of the Diplomatic Club who hopes, in the near future, to spread its philosophy around the globe through its ever growing international links.

Legal status of the DIPLOMATIC CLUB

INTRODUCTION.

The DIPLOMATIC CLUB is a non-profit organization, meaning that it works for the benefit of the public. As such, there are a few legal restrictions on it’s activity: its shareholders and operators cannot make any profit from its activity, and the organization must promote a public cause, using its income and profits for that matter alone. The cause that the DIPLOMATIC CLUB is promoting is the bond between the State of Israel and the foreign diplomats and their families.

A non-profit organization is a corporation, and is defined in the Israeli Corporation law. Like other corporations it has a general assembly, a board of directors and management. In the future the main benefits that a non-profit organization enjoys are income tax exemption, the right to receive donations that can be deducted from the donator’s income and the option to receive governmental money and support.

AIMS.

The DIPLOMATIC CLUB is an exclusive club that AIMS at facilitating the integration of foreign diplomats in Israel and at promoting contacts between members of the diplomatic corps and the local community.

The DIPLOMATIC CLUB, Israel  will be  selected from diplomatic staff, foreign press members, NGO staff and religious officials together with local representatives of ministries, governmental agencies and top Israeli businesspeople.

The DIPLOMATIC CLUB  organizes social events: from exhibitions to fashion shows, from tennis tournaments to sightseeing tours.  In addition to these leisurely happenings, once or twice a year the DIPLOMATIC CLUB organizes a round- table with prominent politicians in order to open a debate on hot topics.

The DIPLOMATIC CLUB arranges discounts and benefits for members in major banks, shops, hotels, cinemas, theaters, restaurants - and more as the Club expands.

Honorary members:                        Ambassadors, posted in Israel, chiefs  of staff of foreign organizations (such as the Red Cross and the United   Nations), and staff of overseasreligious      organizations posted to Israel for a fixed period, chiefs of  foreign media bureaus, Finance Minister Mr. Benyamin Netanyahu, former Prime Minister Mr. Ehud Barak, former President Mr. Ezer Weizman, former Prime Minister Mr. Itzhak Shamir and leader of the Opposition Party, Mr. Shimon Peres, all assist in formulating the AIMS of the Diplomatic Club.  All honorary members are benefits members.

Advisory Committee:                      Benefits and non-benefits members, Israeli elite, leaders and key people in the Israeli economy, academia , media, law and culture, former Israeli  Ambassadors, the Rothschild family, the Recanati family and others, help and consult with the Management to achieve the AIMS and provide the Diplomatic Club’s activity.

Members (Benefits Members)       All diplomatic Staff, foreign organizational staff, (such as the Red Cross and theUnited Nations), and staff of overseas religious organizations posted to Israel for a fixed period of time, board members of the Bi-National Chambers of Commerce in Israel, Honorary Consuls, foreign media, Israeli diplomats, and leaders of           Israeli trade, industry and hi-tech, who have paid membership fees become a benefits user.

                                                            Membership offer: Free access to The Diplomacy Club’s benefits and discounts in Israel and around the world, printed in the Diplomatic Bulletin, free participation in two diplomatic events  (actual) in one year, discount for participation in other social diplomatic events organized by the Club.

4. FUTURE DEVELOPMENT

1) The Diplomatic House: This is a major investment project for the Club to create a meeting place for diplomats. It will include the offices of the Diplomatic Club, an exhibition hall, and a place for celebrating the Independence Days of countries represented in Israel. It will host lectures and events and a museum of Israeli Diplomatic History, "Wine and Cigar Corner".

המועדון הדיפלומטי הוא  מועדון  אקסקלוסיבי שנועד  לשרת את  קהילת  השגרירים  והדיפלומטים   המגיעים  מארצות זרות  לישראל.  המועדון  הוקם  עפ''י  בקשתם  ורצונם  בשנת 1998  ורשום כחברה בע''מ.

המועדון  מקיים   אירועים  חברתיים    כגון :  תחרות  טניס  בינלאומית, תחרות  גולף, ערבי  תרבות שונים  ומגוונים. באירועים  אלה  משתתף  חלק  מהציבור  הנ''ל ,   השגרירים  ובני  משפחותיהם  השוהים  בישראל,   בדרך  כלל  3 שנים וחולקים  חייהם  עם     אזרחי  ישראל. המועדון מארגן סל הטבות והנחות  לחברים.
